  • Infosecurity North America is committed to supporting and fostering innovation in the cyber security industry. The Infosecurity North America Cyber Start-up Competition provided an opportunity for start-up companies looking for funding to present their elevator pitches to a judging panel of venture capitalists.

    The competition took place during a breakfast and networking session at the Networking Bar.

    After the judges had spent some time deliberating, it was announced that Inky had earned the title of ‘Infosecurity North America Cyber Start-up Company of the Year 2017’.

  • Meet the judges

    Greg Dracon
    Partner
    .406 Ventures

    Greg Dracon is a Partner at .406 Ventures with 23+ years of combined venture investing and high tech operating and management experience. Greg co-leads .406’s cybersecurity practice and his current cybersecurity investment portfolio includes AuthAir (sold to LogMeIn), Edgewise, GreatHorn, Lexumo, Onapsis, Pwnie Express, Terbium Labs, ThreatGRID (sold to Cisco), Threat Stack and Vaultive.  Greg is also a Director on the board of the Advanced Cyber Security Center – a non-profit consortium comprised of industry, academic and government leaders establishing New England as a center of excellence for cybersecurity thought leadership.

    In addition to cybersecurity, Greg also leads .406’s cloud infrastructure practice and currently serves on the boards of Ambient Devices, CloudHealth, Jisto, Kaltura, MineralTree and Revmetrix.

    Prior to .406, Greg was a Vice President at the venture capital firm, Core Capital Partners, and, previously, spent a dozen years in a variety of operating and management roles within the high tech industry.

    Greg received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State and his MBA from Wharton. 

    Rick Grinnell
    Founder and Managing Partner
    Glasswing Ventures

     Rick Grinnell is Founder and Managing Partner at Glasswing Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm dedicated to building the next generation of AI technology companies that address the connected world and the security of the ecosystem. As a venture capitalist and seasoned operator, Rick has invested in some of the most dynamic companies in security, enterprise infrastructure and storage. During his 15 years of venture capital experience, most recently as co-founder and Managing Director of Fairhaven Capital, he has led investments and served on the board of directors for companies such as EqualLogic (acquired by Dell), Prelert (acquired by Elastic), Pwnie Express, Resilient Systems (acquired by IBM), Trackvia and VeloBit (acquired by Western Digital).

    He is also active with various entrepreneurial programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard and Tufts Universities, and is a frequent judge at MassChallenge. Rick’s contributions to the broader community include serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, as Vice Chairman of the Board of Overseers at the Museum of Science in Boston, and as a member of the Educational Council at MIT.

    Mark Hatfield
    Partner & Founder
    Ten Eleven Ventures

    Mark is the Founder of Ten Eleven Ventures, the industry’s first venture capital fund that is focused solely on investing in digital security.   Inside security the firm invests globally and is stage agnostic, working as KKR's joint investment alliance partner for stages growth and later. Since our founding in 2015 Ten Eleven has invested in ten companies including Cylance, Darktrace, Hexadite, Ping Identity and Twistlock.

    Mark has led investments in early stage technology companies in a variety of roles since 2003 and has developed a particular passion for security, driven by the size and significance of the problem.

    Most recently Mark was a partner at Fairhaven Capital where he led investments in Cylance, CounterTack, Celtra, and Trust Digital (acquired by McAfee). He also served as a board member of Co3 Systems and Digital Guardian.
